Hi, I'm Francesco! :) I'm 23 years old and I live in Italy, where Art is the soul of every corner of your regular, everyday life. I'm a software and web developer freelancer, and I've learned to appreciate painting miniatures as an expression of my creativity and passion for the Warhammer 40k hobby.
I've first started painting my first ever miniature in late 2023, where I grossly splattered some paint on resin miniatures for my D&D game. Even with scarse results, I discovered a world of possibilities and a new way to express my creativity in these little pieces of plastic and resin.
Since then, I kept learning and learning and I eventually gathered the courage to create my Instagram page.
"Vereor Nox" is a Latin expression used in my favorite videogame franchise ever, Dark Souls. It means "I will not be afraid of the darkness" and it's the core of my philosophy as an artist, as in life itself. I'm not afraid of the darkness, I'm not afraid of the mistakes, I'm not afraid of the challenges. I'm not afraid of not knowing.
I'm only afraid of not trying and giving up.
Everyone should value its own worth and uniqueness, and I'm no exception as a beginner miniature painter. Mine's a journey that's far from its end, and I'm here for it.
Painting a miniature isn't just a matter of painting the model, but also of understanding the background, theme and Lore of the model itself.
Every single creation, no matter how small, is fueled by hours of dedication and work on the model.

My main inspiration is the videogame franchise Dark Souls; this grim universe taught me that one's vision depends solely on his knowledge of the lore and ambient around him.
My secret formula is just that: being able to see beyond the model, and gather inspiration from stories and legends surrounding it.
A blend of traditional techniques, with a previous study of the most efficient and better looking methods of painting.
The right amount of hours for the right result. Big or small projects, attention to detail is the key.
Art isn't only on canvases and paints; it's also on media content and digital presentation.
A good photo and video shooting setup is key for presentation. A great looking models is still ugly if the photo is not good enough.
WH's community is a great source of inspiration and knowledge. My eyes are always open to new techniques.
Not all models' purpose should be to sit on a shelf forever. Playing the hobby's a great way to find inspiration and to see your work in action!
